Reviewing Validation Errors

Validation windows inform you of any validation errors that were found while the system attempted to install the updates you selected. If errors are found, you can take appropriate corrective action and retry the update process, or you can continue to install the remaining updates.

The following validations are performed by the system while installing updates:

  • Application in use. This message displays if you have any CCH Axcess products running while the system is attempting to install updates, or if you have any Microsoft Office products running while the system is attempting to install updates to Tax or Document. If this message displays, you must close all CCH Axcess products, and close all Microsoft Office products if you are installing Tax or Document updates.
  • Unable to connect to update server. This message displays if Install and Update Manager could not connect to the update server while trying to download/install the product updates you selected.
